Reports To: Chief Financial Officer Salary Grade: 38 FLSA: Exempt
Annualized Salary Range: $56,448 to $87,569


Primary Function:
Responsible for management and supervision of the Accounting Department, including supervisory responsibility for the organization’s general ledger, payroll, and accounts payable, . Responsible for monthly financial reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting or Finance preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree. Requires five years increasing accounting/financial management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, with three years experience with computerized accounting systems and staff supervision.

Tasks:
• Supervise all accounting functions, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and cash management.
• Supervisory responsibility for Accounting Staff.
• Responsible for creation and maintenance of the SEABHS General Ledger.
• Responsible for fiscal reporting to SEABHS management, the Board of Directors and others as directed by the CFO.
• Assist the CFO in the development, analysis, and management of corporate budgets, financial/operational analyses and actual versus projected operating results.
• Responsible for maintenance of all financial functions on the MIS System, which includes, but is not limited to, General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, fund source updates, service code and rate schedule changes, and reviews of insurance and contract fund source eligibilities.
• Assist in the development, review and approval of the Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual, including periodic updating as required.
• Will assist the MIS Manager in maintaining the organization’s data records, as required.
• Assist the CFO in all areas of financial control and management, as assigned
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Accountability: Reports to and is supervised directly by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Employee is also accountable for understanding and complying with SEABHS’ Accounting, Personnel and Operating Policies and Procedures, terms of certification, licensure and accreditation standards.

Continuous Education: Employees will be expected to participate in continuous learning,
competency building and maintenance of competency skills. New employees, specifically, who provide direct services, require forty-eight hours of in-service training the first year and twenty-four hours per year thereafter.

Physical Requirements:

Mentor Criteria:
• A mentor will be personable and patient, with good, open communication skills. A mentor will be knowledgeable in SEABHS systems and procedures. A mentor will be a self motivated individual with the ability to positively support their peers.

Mentor Scope of Responsibility:
• A mentor provides side by side, hands on shadowing, with consistent and constructive feedback. The mentor oversees accuracy, as well as verbal and visual skills with on-going communication to the direct supervisor.

• Supervise A/R, A/P, P/R , and Purchasing staff to ensure accuracy and timely submissions of functions.
